Mallorca - Cruise Soller and Deia

- Cala de Conills 39° 31,5' N 002° 19,0' E
Day Cruise to the North Coast, Puerto Soller, Cala de la Calobra and Cala Deia
We leave the marina of Port Adriano in the morning and head for the nature conservation Island Dragonera.
Very soon we pass the Malgrats on starboard and we can have a look at a beautiful panorama of the holiday resorts of Santa Ponsa and Paquera and the Galatzó Mountain in the Tramuntana with a height of 1026 meters.
We pass along the bays of Camp de Mar, Cala Llamp, the beacon of Cabo de la Mola and reach the entrance of the harbor of Puerto Andratx.
It is worth to visit this romantic enchanted natural harbor and enjoy the atmosphere, which is characterized by the contrast between the fishing fleet of the Mallorquin fishermen and the modern private yachts.
After the port exit at north western course we pass on our port side Isla Dragonera, the Dragon shaped island and starboard we see the picturesque village of San Telmo.
After the passage of the island of Dragonera we open Mediterranean Sea is ahead of us. The next 25 miles to Puerto Soller we will cruise along the steep rugged North coast including the 1445 meters high Puig Mayor.
The village of Estellencs and the world-famous Banyalbufar with its one thousand terraces and some isolated properties are looking like swallows nests.
After approximately 19 miles we arrive in Cala Deià. A wonderful location for an excellent sea food lunch in the beach restaurant Cas Patro March, we will reach it with our dinghy.
After a few more miles we pass the romantic Puerto de Soller and sail towards the Cala de Sa Calobra. Enjoy the magnificent turquoise waters in front of the impressive Torrent de Pareis.
On our way back we anchor for a swimming stop in the Bay of Deià. The wonderful Beach Restaurant Cas Patro March offers good service and great sea food. We will reach it with our tender.
Approx. 90 minutes to 2 hours have to be scheduled for the return trip. If we are lucky we will see playing dolphins. With the island of Dragonera in our back, the panorama of the southwest coast is set in the light of the evening sun.
Day trip: about 80 nautical miles in an 8 hours day cruise
